Since 2002, the Holiday Property Bond has owned Lower Knapp Farm near Honiton, south Devon: 16 beautiful holiday units deep in the heart of the bucolic tranquillity of the Devonshire countryside.
But, as of May 3rd 2024, to that can be added a further 18 magnificent holiday properties to the north of the county. These propeties boast the facilities and amenities you would expect at an HPB site (heated indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, clubroom etc) plus jaw-dropping views over Peppercombe Beach and the bay beyond…
Because Northway Court is open, and has already welcomed its first guests.
We were delighted to be joined on opening day by former French Open tennis champion, TV presenter, Bondholder, ‘Face of the Holiday Property Bond’ and native Devonian, Sue Barker CBE. Sue unveiled the commemorative plaque and then joined HPB co-founders Geoffrey Baber and Robert Boyce for a tour of the site. Robert, and particularly Geoffrey, have seen it before at various stages of development – but it was all new to Sue, who loved the location, the colourway and the contemporary style in which the properties had been fitted out.
“I holidayed at Lower Knapp Farm recently,” Sue said, “and it was absolutely idyllic. But it’s great to know that when I return ‘home’ I now have not one but two HPB locations to choose from. I can’t wait!”
As Northway Court is situated on the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast, there is no shortage of nearby attractions. The South West Coast Path passes nearby; the Milky Way Adventure Park is sure to be a hit with your children; Saunton Sands, a huge stretch of unspoilt beach, lies to the north; pretty Bideford and historic Barnstaple are just six and 16 miles to the east; and golfers will make a beeline for Westward Ho! and the Royal North Devon Golf Club, seven miles or so north-east: a proper links course with excellent greens.
But you could be excused from doing any of that. That view out across Bideford Bay is enough to keep you entranced for at least a week!
