The Dordogne is one of the best places to explore, especially by bike. At Constant you are excellently located to discover some of the most beautiful landscapes and quaint old market towns.
The summer and autumn are great times of year for birds and wildflowers so if you can explore with someone that knows the area well, you are guaranteed to find all the best spots. Luckily, at Constant our resident Activities Coordinator Steven knows all the local trails like the back of his hand. And he’s been busy plotting out a series of bike rides that range in length from half-day to full-day rides along some of his favourite routes.
Steven takes visitors on treks through the countryside and introduces them to traditional France. His trails are easily adapted for people of all ages and abilities, so you don’t need to worry about being a strong cyclist, and if you haven’t got your bike with you, they are easily hired from nearby.
Having loved cycling from a young age, Steven qualified as a cycle tour guide with Cycling UK after completing university. His aim for the bike tours is to help the guests at Constant to engage with their environment. It’s such a stunning place to be on holiday that it only seems right to explore as much of it as possible. His routes are graded according to their difficulty, so you’ll find it simple to pick the one that suits you best. In the autumn, the sun’s heat has subsided a little, making it ideal cycle weather. It’s also the beginning of the migration period for a lot of birdlife, so you are likely to spot some stunning birds as you go.
He makes sure to include a lot of stops along the way, which means you get the opportunity to experience the French café culture and you’re never short of a pick-me-up. The rides are a really enjoyable way to spend the day and enjoy the Dordogne at a leisurely pace. Steven is a fantastic instructor and will make sure you get the most out of your day.
