Ludlow is just one of many towns that are laden with markets, fresh fruit and veg stalls, butchers and delicatessens, not to mention award winning local pubs and great tea-rooms. Sometimes referred to as Shropshire's gastronomic capital, Ludlow is great for dining out. Invested in maintaining the traditional, English country vibe, its restaurants are supported by the numerous markets and food fairs, speciality shops and delis which all, similarly, serve good quality, local food.

The Ludlow Food Festival is a main highlight of the town. This event has been celebrated for years and attracts people from miles around to enjoy all sorts of events, workshops and classes as well as a great selection to taste and buy. In 2016 the festival takes place on the 9th, 10th and 11th September and there will be more than 180 fantastic independent food and drink producers arriving to set up their stalls inside the walls of Ludlow Castle. Throughout the town you'll find a number of food-related events taking place over the same weekend. There are trails, markets and talks. Enjoy!
