The Drawing Room at Henllys is often host to great music nights and guests can enjoy a range of performances from various choirs and even the harp and piano duo called Piantel.
Piantel are well known in Wales and have performed world wide. They have been performing together for 10 years and they play a wide range of music including Jazz, Classical and Scott Joplin covers. Interestingly, neither of the performers use sheets of music, they play by ear and always sound perfect. They also perform some well known pieces from films such as 'The Rose' from the Bet Midler film of the same name, and the popular piece from Doctor Zhivago. The two musicians Annette (the pianist) and Dylan (the harpist) are regarded for their individual style and performances. Between them they have recorded five solo albums and three Piantel albums. Their latest one is called 'Un Enaid”. Piantel are due to perform at Henllys on the 16th July, 10th September, 1st October and 10th December 2015.
As well as Piantel there are six different choir groups that perform in the Drawing Room and have, in the past, been as large as 40 members. This all began when one of the guests to Henllys proposed his choir Cor Y Traeth come to entertain the other visitors. Demand was so high that the number of choirs has grown and things have kicked off from there! Guests to Henllys can bring their own bottles and settle in for the evening's performance. Though it is worth noting that performances don't take place during school holidays.
