Water Sports in Jávea, Alicante

Posted by Luci Ackers on 4 March 2015

Jávea has so much more to offer than the usual sun, sea and sand. It is a centre for everything water sports related and is the reason this spanish resort is a hot spot for tourists in the summer months. There is a water sport for any age, level and skill.

Water sports here range from scuba diving, jet-skiing, diving, kite surfing, boating, water skiing, fishing and wakeboarding. The beaches aren't short of a rental shop for all the gear and there are plenty of teachers ready to give lessons to those who aren't too confident on the water. It would be easy to spend your entire holiday on the beach!

Sailing is very popular in the area, with great coastal views to enjoy. But if you're not a keen sailor then hop on board a boat for an organised day trip around the coast. There's nothing better than relaxing on the seas and enjoying the beautiful weather. The coast is also an excellent place for windsurfing and, with award winning beaches in the area, it's no wonder so many people come to surf here. With all equipment available to rent nearby it's easy to make a day of it.

The Mediterranean Sea is also a great place to go deep-sea fishing. Fishing charters are available from various companies and they provide everything you need for a day out at sea. There are many different fish to see, although the most sought after is the swordfish. If fishing and active water sports aren't your thing then why not try your hand at snorkelling; with an abundance of beautiful marine life to be seen you'd better make sure you take an under water camera!

Although Jávea is well known for its status as a water sports centre, it is first and foremost a fishing town and an ancient one at that, with many interesting things to do in the main city. The city of Valencia is only an hour away and its famous historic buildings, museums and shopping centres are well worth a visit.

Aquasports Javea is a great place to start for boats and jet skis for charter

Diving Javea is a good one for those wanting a slightly slower pace. It offers excursions and courses, diving and snorkelling.
