Zoomarine is a water park with a difference. It is located in Guia, towards the south coast of Portugal and showcases an array of tropical fish species, dolphins, seals, sharks and sea lions as well as tropical birds and birds of prey from around the world.
The park is scattered with attractions and rides, not to mention a wet zone with a swimming pool each for adults, children and babies. There is lots to see, with dolphin and sea lion shows, a shark aquarium, bird of prey demonstrations and organised presentations throughout the day.
The park is educational and puts a lot into its animal conservation work. It runs a rehabilitation centre focussing on the reintroduction of a range of marine species to their natural habitat. It also holds great importance in environmental education, hoping that learning from and observing different species will increase public appreciation and concern.
Zoomarine is generally open from early June to late September. But it's best to check the website just to be sure. Follow the link.
