2015 is the international year of light, with events taking place across the world. UNESCO has decorated the world heritage site in Alberobello in Puglia with the colours and brush strokes of the famous painting 'Starry Night'. This year marks the 125th anniversary of Vincent van Gogh's death and has inspired the light festival to pay homage to the painter by illuminating the streets and buildings with his beautiful work.
The celebration concludes this weekend on the 2nd of August, so it's your last chance to catch it if you're staying in one of the trulli buildings in the area. The celebration has been fuelled by different shows, videomapping and light installations, all combining to create a stunning, evening atmosphere.
