Corporate Social Responsibility

We believe that, as an organisation, we must always respect the wider community’s needs and values. For us, that involves developing and maintaining our holiday locations with environmental concerns in mind, providing access as widely as possible for the less and differently abled and acting as a responsible and equal opportunities employer.

The Environment

We follow all applicable laws and regulations relating to planning and environmental protection in developing and operating our sites. We work closely with independent consultants to install the latest and best in environmentally-friendly, energy-saving solutions – biomass boilers, photovoltaic and solar panels, heat recovery systems, voltage optimisations, reed bed sewerage processing systems and so on.

Access

52 properties at various locations are adapted for use by accompanied wheelchair users. Such properties are why the largest single investor in the Holiday Property Bond is the RAF Disabled Holiday Trust. In addition, for those with restricted mobility, around 10% of the overall portfolio is now step-free.

Employment

We follow all applicable employment law, including that relating to equal opportunities. We are proud of the loyalty and dedication of our employees, many of whom have been with us for 10, 15, 20 years or even longer. At the other end of the scale, we recently recruited our first apprentice in the area of IT support who has now taken up a permanent position with us.

“A great Golden Wedding present”

Bondholders Mike and Ann St John celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary by taking three apartments at Santa Rosa in Lanzarote. When they spotted that HPB has its very own PADI diving instructor at Santa Rosa they booked all five grandsons onto the scuba diving course. What an inspired decision it turned out to be! They are a superb team and they gave the boys an experience that will stay with them for a lifetime.
