Discover Costa Teguise
Costa Teguise is situated on the eastern side of Lanzarote and has all the attributes of a holiday destination without the commercialism found in other resorts on the island. It is also home to the delightful private resort of Santa Rosa.
One attraction of Lanzarote is, of course, the year-round sunshine, which you can enjoy on a choice of fine sandy beaches. However, the island offers much more than just sun and sea.
The landscape is both unusual and dramatic. Although parts are covered by volcanic rock, forming spectacular lunar landscapes, much of the island is alive with the lush colours of exotic plants and greenery. What’s more, Lanzarote possesses a rich, cultural heritage that is the envy of other, far larger islands.
If you’re looking for a holiday property in Lanzarote which is child friendly, has plenty of luxury amenities, a swimming pool and is less than ten minutes away from the beach, our Costa Teguise holiday homes are an ideal choice.
Surf, bathe and play on some beautiful beaches
Lanzarote boasts 213kms of coastline, with beaches to suit every type of holidaymaker. Surfers should head to the beach at Famara, as the waves here are perfect to ride. Families looking for somewhere safe to swim and play may prefer Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca or Puerto del Carmen.
As you might have guessed, Costa Teguise is the closest to the resort, whereas Playa Blanca is the furthest away. Whichever beach you choose, each gives your family the chance to try out various watersports, should you get bored of building sandcastles.
Explore incredible volcanic caves
The Jameos del Agua are incredible sight to behold. Located inside one of the world’s longest volcanic tunnels, which was created following the eruption of La Corona Volcano, these caves hold many treasures within. There’s a stunning garden with large swimming pool, a bar, a dance floor and even a cave which is used for concerts. The acoustics makes the caves ideal for musical and ballet performances, so you may even have the chance to catch a show during your trip.
Enjoy the amazing volcanic landscapes
Also known as the Fire Mountains, the Timanfaya National Park’s multi-coloured landscape will blow you away. It consists of several volcanic lava fields which can only be accessed via several marked footpaths, as the flora and fauna requires special protection. Alternatively, you can explore the national park on a camel!

Wish to stay longer than a week? We don’t blame you! Luckily for you we offer concessionary long stay holidays on this particular property. Just get in touch or read the brochure for more information.

Lanzarote is one of the most popular Canary Islands, located off the coast of Africa.
It is of volcanic origin, and many parts of the island appear to be from another world, often described as lunar or Martian. However, in spite of its volcanic nature, Lanzarote has several beautiful white beaches. The island enjoys a mild and dry climate making it the perfect year-round destination.
Things to do in Costa Teguise
Although many activities revolve around Costa Teguise’s sandy beaches – with windsurfing in particular being very well catered for – there is lots more to do.
As well as the Lanzarote Aquarium (the Canary Islands’ largest aquarium) on the Costa Teguise, there is an array of places to visit around the island.
Teguise town and inland Lanzarote
The Fundación César Manrique is based in the eponymous artist’s former home in nearby Tahiche. Carved out of the surrounding ‘lunar’ volcanic landscape, it’s a truly unique setting for a museum of modern art. As well as many of Manrique’s works, it holds exhibitions by other artists.
Learn about the island's traditional produce
Travel south west to San Bartolomé and into La Geria – our wine region whose bodegas will be of interest to any wine enthusiasts. The cellars of El Grifo, near the village of Masdache, date back to 1775 and exemplify the local architecture. The museum’s collection tells the story of wine making, after which you can taste the wines yourself.
Castillo de San José
To the south coast is Arrecife’s International Museum of Contemporary Art, of which Manrique was the honorary director. Located in an 18th-century fortress built by King Carlos III, the castle is a reminder of the past. The museum has works from a range of visiting artists, and hosts regular events and an elegant restaurant.
Heading further south still, stop off at the Playa Chica beach in Puerto del Carmen. Have a go at some alternative water sports, suitable for all ages, with Paracraft Lanzarote.
From a sea of lava to sea life
The volcanically active Parque Nacional de Timanfaya is a 125-square-mile sea of lava, formed by huge eruptions in 1730-36 and 1824. Its most famous volcanoes include the Montañas del Fuego, the Caldera del Corazoncillo and the Montaña Rajada.
Explore this fascinating landscape as part of an accompanied coach tour, and when you’ve worked up an appetite, visit El Diablo (‘The Devil’) restaurant that uses the heat that radiates from below the surface to cook on a never ending BBQ arrangement.
Cacti, caves and cliffs
Located in Guatiza on the north-east coast of the island is Manrique’s last work, the famous Jardín de Cactus (Cactus Garden) with its sculptural, half-buried volcanic monoliths. The botanical garden with a traditional canary windmill has a collection of approximately 10,000 types of cactus from more than 1,400 species around the world.
Slightly further north again, the Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes are 10 miles of interconnecting passages and caves. It was formed by an eruption of the volcano Monte de la Corona, the highest volcanic crater on the island, some 3,000 years ago. Developed by Manrique in 1968, there is a 1,000-seat concert arena in the Jameo Grande, natural terraces, a magnificent garden and even a swimming pool.
On the western side of Monte de la Corona, the Guinate Tropical Park sits at the foot of the volcano. Covering 11 acres, the park’s home to many different species of bird, mammal, reptile and fish. It’s also close to the Famara Cliffs, with amazing views of La Graciosa, Alegranza and Montaña Clara.

Mike and Ann St JohnBondholders Mike and Ann St John celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary by taking three apartments at Santa Rosa in Lanzarote. When they spotted that HPB has its very own PADI diving instructor at Santa Rosa they booked all five grandsons onto the scuba diving course. What an inspired decision it turned out to be!
